Boiler water system comprises boiler feed water, boiler water and condensate. These waters contain ions that when they react among themselves or with the metal in this system cause corrosion, scaling and deposition. The rate of reactions roughly doubles with every 10°C raise in temperature. This necessitates the need to have a targeted chemical regimen to protect the boiler system in addition to a proper feed water pre-treatment system.
Classification
- Anti scalant (Scale and Sludge inhibitor)
- Oxygen Scavenger
- Steam Line Corrosion Inhibitor
- pH and Alkalinity Booster
Application
- Anti-Scalant is responsible for removal of hardness, sludge conditioning by dispersion, distortion of molecular structures of scales and deposits as well as removal of existing scale and deposits over a period and transportation of iron.
- Oxygen scavenger reacts with the oxygen in water, thereby removing the oxygen and controlling corrosion in the boiler and feed water systems.
- Steam line Corrosion inhibitor is used to adjust pH of condensate to a neutral level and prevent corrosion in the steam condensate systems.
- pH and Alkalinity booster is used as alkalinity builder for elevation of pH and alkalinity as it may be required to reduce corrosion, precipitate calcium and magnesium hardness salts and prevention of silica deposition.
